- Dimensions: 24' X 16'
- Lumber: Pressure treated (From Home Depot)
- Deck Type: Free standing (no ledger board)
- Cantilevering: Joists use 42" cantilever over beams on each end
- Posts: 14 6X6 posts
- Footings: 12" diameter 8" thick footings set below frost line (36-40")
- Beams: 2 beams. Each beam is 24' long made up of 3 2X10s
- Joists: 2X10 joists. 16 o.c. (doubled up where spanning main stairway)
- Decking: 5/4 deck boards
- Railings: Strong railing/baluster design using posts with 200lb reinforcment
- Stairways: 2: 1 four foot stairway and 1 six foot stairway
- Level: Deck is flush with house entrance
- Skirting: 1X6 solid skirt with 36" wide access panel for getting under deck when needed
- Stain: Behr oil base stain with custom color from Home Depot
- Build Time: About 19 days (Spanning 04/18/08-07/04/08 - Worked mostly weekends and when weather permitted.)

- Lumber:$2500 (includes tax and delivery)
- Nuts/Bolts/Screws/Stain/Etc..: $500
- Labor: FREE!!!
- Total Cost: $3000
- Cost to hire out for same deck: $8000-$10000 (I asked a professional contractor friend of mine to look over the deck and estimate what he would charge to build the exact same deck)
